Think oversized suites, pools and hot tubs that do a solid job convincing you to stay put, spas when you’ve overdone it (it happens), gyms if you’re trying to balance things out, and nightlife that doesn’t believe in early endings. Theme nights are a whole thing too... so yes, packing something playful isn’t optional, it’s part of the fun.
One of the defining rules: no phones or cameras in public areas. Once you're inside the resort, it's about being present instead of posting it. Different, but kind of the point.
If you're new to this whole clothing-optional thing, don't sweat it. Most guests ease into it and end up surprised by how natural it feels after day two.
The staff really set the tone. Friendly, relaxed, and most importantly nonjudgemental. It doesn't take long before they know your name and drink order.
Getting betwen the two resorts is easy with a quick taxi ride, so you can experience both vibes if you want. And in our opinion, you definitely should!

A Shared History With SDC
SDC and Desire share a long and happy history. SDC was there at the very beginning of Desire, hosting several beloved events each year at the original Riviera Maya Resort and a few at Desire Pearl. The Pearl property itself evolved from Ceiba del Mar after being transformed by the Original Group in 2012, becoming the more uspcale version it is today. Over time, both resorts have become known for hosting memorable lifestyle events and building a strong community.
